“Life is what you make it.
Always was and always will be.” Grandma Moses
Hum, great quote from an awesome artist. But honestly, it speaks so much truth. Yet, we sometimes do not know what life is about and what is the purpose in life.
We have so many questions and if you are a deep thinker then you might get yourself into philosophical thoughts and certainly religion can give us many thoughts about the purpose in life.
We can ask ourselves many questions and sometimes too many if you ask me. But to each their own and to each is a different path to get to that end, to find your purpose in life. You might ask some of these questions, but for me, I will reiterate Grandma Moses words, Life is what you make of it. Always was and always will be.
So, if you must ask these questions and seek the answers, but do not just ask with your mind, go into your heart and ask these soul searching questions.
What is the meaning of life?
What’s it all about? Who are we?
Why are we here?
What are we here for?
What is the origin of life?
What is the nature of life?
What is the nature of reality?
What is the purpose in life?
What is the purpose of one’s life?
What is the significance of life?
What is meaningful and valuable in life?
What is the value of life?
What is the reason to live?
What are we living for?
Well, if I addressed all these questions even in a simplistic manner, which is my style anyway, I would have to write a 300 page book. So, let us just ponder Grandma Moses words again, “Life is what you make of it. Always was and always will be.” This statement made by wise Grandma Moses gives more focus and clarity to life. Your personal life, your work life, your relationships, your spirituality, your self education or formal education all come together under what you make of it and what your purpose in life is.
“Purpose is a broad ‘mission statement’ of life.
It can be as simple as the phrase: ‘Make those around me happy.’ No one can give you your purpose. Purpose is something you discover and embrace; it is not thrust upon you. Purpose should not be confused with goals. the purpose is the end; goals are the means to that end. Purpose in life is not overcoming weaknesses, or even using our skills well. Great athletes, writers or scientists can struggle as much as anyone else in finding purpose. Purpose is discovered in how you define your life’s meaning; the goals you set to fulfill that meaning; and how you use your skills to achieve those goals. Once life’s purpose is discovered, it rarely changes. Goals are achieved or adjusted for new circumstances, but purpose generally remains constant.” (Christopher News Note 528)
Once you really know within the depths of your being what your purpose is, you will find a change in what you used to think would make you happy. You will find that what you do actually becomes a vibrant life giving force within the depths of your being.
And this could and should apply to all people. Seriously, Life is what you make it! Always was and always will be. So, start making your life something you can put your heart into, then give back to others in your world, give them something of value. Something you can share to help them.
And honestly, it seems the golden rule at least for me, answers all these questions.
To love God with all you got and love your neighbor as yourself. So, know and love yourself, and then you can really help others as you will care about them as you care about yourself. So, what do you say?
I repeat this………..”Life is what you make it. Always was and always will be.” Grandma Moses
I would love to post a Grandma Moses Picture, but not sure I am allowed to do so without permission!
