I just got out of a meeting with lawyer regarding possible bankrupcy and am excited to have financial healing on the way.
So, I am posting something from my old Empowernetwork blog, which
Is about healing as healing comes in many ways.
This link is to Fr. Richard McAlears webpage and there is a series of free healing audios on his webpage you really should listen as he is awesome.
On another blog the other day, I spoke of pain, we all suffer some pains at some point in our life. The problem is many of us fail to let go of this pain.
Fr. McAlear is what I call a mystic, he is on fire with the love of God and he brings this healing love of God to those who come to him for prayer. Yes, pain in body, mind and spirit healed. When Fr. McAlear prays with you, the peace is profound. I speak from my own experience. And I will say, you also feel a deep, indescribable love of God. Talk about outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
I went to healing mass and conference recently, and would love to share what he said. He really zeros in on the most important thing. He said we often want to know the mind of God, yet scripture says, nobody knows God. If someone says they know God, run away.
Remember the story of 3 blind men who all touch an elephant? One touches his ears and said, “oh it is a large leather butterfly.” The next touches his torso and said, “oh it is a large leather wall.” And then the 3rd man touched the elephants trunk and said, “it is like a tree.” Well, guess what, that is what we bring to our image of God, our limitations.
In our limitations and shortsightedness we make mistakes about who God is because we project out our experience from our mind, background and views.
Some believe God is angry and they say, “what did I do wrong, why did He allow this, what did we do to deserve this?
Some think God wants to kill people because they do not follow a certain way. If you believe God punished Haiti for the voodoo on the Island, then you are like those religions that endorse killing people for God.
You have to ask yourself, “what kind of God do your serve?” If you think He loves suffering, sickness and death of sinners…..you will become like this image of God you are serving.
John1:18 says you do not know God. There is One who is closest to the Heart of God and He revealed the TRUE IMAGE of GOD to us. In Jesus, God is revealed to us. Buddha and others project their image of God, but they did not reveal the TRUE GOD.
Christians often want to know the mind of God, but they really need to go to the HEART of GOD. Jesus came from the HEART of GOD. Jesus does not intellectually teach about God. If you see Jesus, you see GOD’s HEART. You need to find the heart of God as in His heart you will find, love, mercy and forgiveness.
And in HIS HEART Is healing. Christianity is a religion of healing. Remember John3:16….for God so loved the world that HE gave HIS only Son, so that we might be saved. And it goes on in John3:17 God did not send HIS SON to condemn the world.
Remember St. Paul, he destroyed Christians. And yet Jesus healed him and St. Paul said, “when I was dead in my sins, God brought me to life in Jesus.”
Listen with forgiveness comes healing. Yet we often do not think we deserve to be healed. Remember the paralytic that Jesus healed? Jesus told him, “your sins are forgiven, get up and go home.” Jesus knew that this paralytic thought he was paralyzed for something he did wrong. So, Jesus told him he is forgiven and the man walked.
You know Jesus was a friend of sinners. Jesus who is holy, pure, sinless. Jesus the man who is GOD hung with sinners. We want to hang out with holy people, but who did Jesus hang out with? You know why? Because Holiness should love all! How Christian are we? Do we associate only with holy people? Or do we reach out to all people? Many people feel rejected by the church, they feel unloved.
Fr. McAlear said that atheists reject an image of God. An image of God as portrayed by people who are judgmental and condemning. Hum, I think all Christians need to reflect on that thought, me included.
What image do you project? Do you project the loving heart of Jesus or are you the accuser? Are you critical, overbearing, haughty, prideful? You know, “oh Lord look at me, I tithe and attend services……I am so glad I am not like that tax collector over there(who humbly hangs his head and seeks forgiveness).
Uh, I would rather be the tax collector myself, but honestly have been a little bit of both characters at some points.
Well, I still want to write more about what Fr McAlear said, but am up to almost 800 words, so will end and finish on a later blog.
Have a great Memorial Day Weekend and remember, “GOD LOVES
