The Feast of Saint Joseph

May 1st is Feast of St. Joseph, the Worker

O Saint Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the Throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires. O Saint Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ, our Lord; so that having engaged here below your heavenly power I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers. O Saint Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms. I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine Head for me, and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. Saint Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for us. Amen.

According to tradition, this prayer was found in the 50th year of our LORD Jesus Christ. Likewise, according to tradition, whoever reads this prayer or hears it or carries it will never die a sudden death, nor be drowned, nor will poison take effect on him. He will not fall into the hands of the enemy nor be burned in any fire, nor will he be defeated in battle. Saint Joseph is so powerful that one of his titles is the Terror of Demons.

Some books tell us to say this prayer for 9 consecutive mornings, others recommend 9 consecutive days. Every source I’ve seen says to ask for anything you desire. St. Joseph answered prayers for me swiftly in the past when I was desperately seeking help on how to love God, when my mom died and when my grad daughter was in NICU. I hope to pray this awesome ancient prayer also. Definitely will do so March 19th and May 1st, please join me. I am doing another novena right now. This one would be awesome.
