Childhood Gift

What is a Childhood gift?

A childhood gift is when you trust that others will take care of you and you just are supposed to enjoy all the goodness of life. I remember flitting around happily like a carefree butterfly as a child.

And yes this gift is often assaulted or wounded

However, bats come which are enemies of the butterfly as they love to eat them or sometimes just wound them. Certainly we all have had some kind of assault which leaves a wound. And not all assaults are willfully done by others.

Why does this happen?

Sometimes it is just plan selfishness or better yet sinfulness that causes others to hurt those closest to them. Or how about concupiscence, you know the effects of original sin?  Certainly, there are many factors, sometimes generational patterns, or addictions that trickled down even though you said, I will not do that to my kids or family. I don’t need to be specific because most of us disliked something that happened to us as children or young adults.

So, what to do?

Well, my understanding is that Jesus is the Divine Healer and that when you bring dark things in the form of wounds, sins or other issues to His light He heals them. Especially, for those who ask with their whole heart, sort like calling out for help sincerely, knowing that you can’t do this alone and asking His help. This takes humility, something alot of Americans and other cultures fail to understand  as rugged individualism or other mentalities prevail.

A simple way to see past your pride is in my first paragraph. The child went along happily, trusting his/her parents would take care of them. Not worrying, just being a child. This is so with God, He is an awesome, merciful Father and wants to help us so much. He sent His only Son, who out of obedience to His Father and love of humanity died to bridge the chasm. The chasm we created and continue to do now. But Jesus bridged it, if we but look to Him.

Let Jesus put mud on our blind eyes of the soul and spirit. Let Him fill us with Divine life, light and healing. Let Him wash your sins….never too late for confession folks. Let Him help you forgive yourself and others.

If you do this, all in heaven will rejoice, but other evil ones will not like it.

They will pull you back into the darkness if they can.  Or they will seek a weak link in your family. Sooooo, you must pray for their protection and for their spiritual eyes and heart to open.

If, God is love and Jesus is the Way then don’t miss the bridge that brings you to your spiritual childhood.  After all, you have a childhood gift from God. Don’t fear the One who created you, run to Him as a small child runs to have daddy or mommy pick them up.

The Feast of Saint Joseph

May 1st is Feast of St. Joseph, the Worker

O Saint Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the Throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires. O Saint Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ, our Lord; so that having engaged here below your heavenly power I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers. O Saint Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms. I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine Head for me, and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. Saint Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for us. Amen.

According to tradition, this prayer was found in the 50th year of our LORD Jesus Christ. Likewise, according to tradition, whoever reads this prayer or hears it or carries it will never die a sudden death, nor be drowned, nor will poison take effect on him. He will not fall into the hands of the enemy nor be burned in any fire, nor will he be defeated in battle. Saint Joseph is so powerful that one of his titles is the Terror of Demons.

Some books tell us to say this prayer for 9 consecutive mornings, others recommend 9 consecutive days. Every source I’ve seen says to ask for anything you desire. St. Joseph answered prayers for me swiftly in the past when I was desperately seeking help on how to love God, when my mom died and when my grad daughter was in NICU. I hope to pray this awesome ancient prayer also. Definitely will do so March 19th and May 1st, please join me. I am doing another novena right now. This one would be awesome.
